Keep Out, Stay Out (KOSO). KOSO is divided into three (3) segments: 1- Keep Out segment, which are facilities and programs designed to work with addicts and other disadvantaged persons prone to unlawful behaviors to prevent them from committing illegal acts therefore keeping them out of jail/prison; 2- Inmate Training segment, which is the process of conducting The Intentional Life program to the incarcerated in order to prepare them for living their intentional life on the outside; and, 3- Stay Out segment, which are facilities and programs designed to work with inmates released from jail/prison to assist in their re-entry to society as productive citizens and give them what they need to prevent criminal behaviors therefore ensuring they stay out of jail/prison.
There are many programs and facilities for inmates, addicts and at-risk teens. What makes ILA different? Intentional Life Integration. With The Intentional Living System as the foundation, ILA builds a comprehensive and sound personal structure integrating the nine (9) areas of life [primary relationship; family, career, finance,
health, social, community, spiritual and personal] to produce peaceful, purposeful, powerful and productive Intentional individuals. A natural and necessary part of Intentional Life Integration is a treatment approach with its roots in integrative medicine.
Integrative medicine focuses on causesnot symptomsof any ailment in the body, including chemical dependency. With an end goal of returning the chemically dependent individuals body to a natural state of balance, integrative medicine harnesses the scientific advances of Western medicine, while integrating aspects of alternative medicine into an alcohol or drug dependent individuals treatment plan. Alcoholism and drug addiction are not viewed as incurable diseasesbut rather as symptoms of underlying physical or mental conditions that need to be resolved. Integrative medicine also makes use of specialty diagnostic testing. Blood chemistry analysis tests and technologically-advanced scans can uncover root causes for addiction, revealing organs, systems or processes that have become imbalanced or blocked within the body. Once these conditions have been treated the symptoms of alcoholism and drug addiction will resolve along with the root physical and psychological issues themselves.
Intentional Life Integration, combined with the more traditional approaches including 12-step programs, counseling, as well as other recovery and re-entry programs we will offer, makes ILA the most comprehensive, holistic and innovative solution for those transitioning and reentering our communities. Our objective has always
been, and will continue to be, to work with government and private agencies to gather data, establish measurement systems and document measurable results in reducing recidivism and enhancing the quality of life and success of all with whom we work which will unquestionably reduce the financial burden on government and society.
THE PASTOR’S MASTERMIND & COACHING FORUM
This year-long platform, designed for pastors & pastoral staff who are serious about succeeding intentionally, is based on two similar, but distinct, principles for success involving groups.
The first is the Junto. In 1727, Benjamin Franklin with 12 of his friends formed the Junto (from the Latin “iungere” meaning “to join”)a club dedicated to mutual improvement. They shared a desire to improve themselves, their community, and to help others. The members of the Junto were drawn from a wide variety of occupations and backgrounds. That Junto continued for over 40 years. In his Autobiography, Franklin described the group, and what follows are highlights.
I had formed most of my ingenious acquaintance into a club of mutual improvement, which we called the JUNTO…the rules that I drew up required that every member , once in three months, produce and read an essay of his own writing, on any subject he pleased. Our debates were to be conducted in the sincere spirit of inquiry after truth, without fondness for dispute, or desire of victory; and, to prevent warmth, all expressions of positiveness in opinions, or direct contradiction, were after some time made contraband, and prohibited under small pecuniary penalties. Our club was found so useful, and afforded such satisfaction to the member that we made it a rule to keep our institution a secret, which was pretty well observed; the intention was to avoid applications of improper persons for admittance, some of whom, perhaps, we might find it difficult to refuse.
The second is the Mastermind. Andrew Carnegie, the worlds richest man at the time, commissioned Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, to spend 20 years researching the most successful men of his time. The second of the seventeen principles of success was the mastermind.
Napoleon Hill defined his principle of mastermind as a coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose. Mr. Hill even went so far as to say there was a mystical quality created when a mastermind group was formed. He said: No two minds ever come together without, thereby, creating a third, invisible, intangible force which may be likened to a third mind.
Each of our Mastermind and Coaching Forums will work as follows:
1. A core group of facilitators will be formed representing a set of crucial church disciplines, with the foundational platform for learning and discussion-activation being The Intentional Living System.
2. The first 3 applications submitted will be reviewed by the district & core facilitators to determine acceptance. As the group grows and applications are submitted, that group, the district and the facilitators decide on acceptance or not. Eight will be the maximum for each group.
3. The get-togethers will be once-a-week for 2 ½ hours, with online chats and forums available.
4. Each session will be divided into 3 sections: 1) Philosophy; 2) Strategy; and 3) Community. Philosophy: the introduction of and discussion around a foundational church principle from The Intentional Living System. Strategy: The Masterminding of how we Accept, Adopt and Adapt that principle into our church and life. Community: The commitment to and accountability by the group to ensure intentional, habitual, sustainable, and measurable implementation and success.
5. A quarterly goal will be set by each member. At the end of each quarter, reports will be presented on: 1) what was learned; 2) how that has been implemented and the progress being made; and 3) the specific, measurable results being achieved.
6. Each group will work on a project of the groups choosing to benefit the community in which they live and work or society as a whole. This project will be implemented at the end of the mastermind period.
